Therapeutic Massage in Overland Park, KS
Not sure whether you need deep tissue, relaxation, or something in between? Therapeutic massage is my fully customized session — I blend techniques based on what your body tells me that day. I'm Dee Jeffries, LMT, and this is the session I recommend for first-time clients and anyone whose tension does not fit neatly into one category.
Book This SessionTherapeutic Massage, Defined
Therapeutic massage is a customized session that draws from multiple techniques — deep tissue, Swedish, myofascial work, stretching, and cupping — based on your specific concerns. Rather than following a set routine, I assess your body, listen to your goals, and build the session around what will actually help.
Common Reasons
- You have tension in some areas and stress in others and want both addressed
- You are new to massage and are not sure which type fits you
- Your body changes — sometimes you need depth, sometimes you need to decompress
- You want a session that is genuinely tailored rather than off-the-rack
How I Work
We start by talking — what hurts, what has been stressful, what you want from the session. From there, I build the session in real time. I might use deep tissue on your shoulders, Swedish strokes on your legs, stretching for your hips, and cupping on a stubborn knot — whatever your body needs. I check in throughout, so the session evolves with you rather than following a script.
Who It's For

Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage targets the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. Rather than gliding over the surface, I use slow, focused strokes and sustained pressure to reach the bands of tension that sit underneath — the kind that everyday stretching and a hot shower can't touch.
Learn MoreRelaxation Massage
Relaxation massage — often called Swedish massage — uses long, flowing, rhythmic strokes with light to moderate pressure. The goal is not to work deep into problem areas, but to calm the nervous system, improve circulation, and release the general tension that builds up from everyday stress.
Learn MoreCupping Therapy
Cupping therapy uses cups placed on the skin to create suction. Instead of pressing down into the tissue like massage does, cupping lifts the skin and superficial fascia, increasing blood flow, releasing adhesions between tissue layers, and encouraging stubborn muscles to let go. I use both stationary cups and gliding (moving) cupping depending on the goal.
